Moving to Southeastern Wisconsin in 1980 was a definite change of pace for this native New Yorker; but after almost thirty years as a Mid-Westerner Janis hasn’t lost the energy and excitement that first brought her here. Whether it’s walking the Kettle Moraine forests, boating on Geneva Lake, or biking the White River Trail, there’s always something keeping Janis involved, excited, and informed about the local community. A former educator and writer, she believes education, communication, and information are essential ingredients for successful customer service. It was this belief that led her to be recognized as “Rookie of the Year” when she was a new agent; her continued commitment to excellence in serving customers and clients alike, continues to earn her recognition each year as a multi-million dollar producer.

She continues to refine and develop her expertise each year and is currently on track to complete education courses for Certified Residential Specialist, CRS and Graduate Realtor Institute, GRE, in 2009. A member of the Lakes Area Realtors Association, Wisconsin Realtors Association, and the National Association of Realtors. The National Association of Builders, National Sales and Marketing Council recently presented Janis with the Million Dollar Circle Silver Award for outstanding achievement and distinguished service in recognition for having sold 2.2 million dollars in new home sales in 2007.

Janis lives in Lake Geneva with her husband of 29 years, John Kaminski, a dentist, and their two children. She has long been a community volunteer and established the Aurora Lakeland Medical Center Pudgy Bear Fund. She serves on the foundation board of directors of the local hospital and has served several terms on the board of the Geneva Lakes Women’s Association. A graduate of Marquette University and The University of Chicago, Janis enjoys writing about travel and architecture in her free time.
